Larider Ruffin, DNP, APN, NP-c, RN, ANP-BC, AGNP-C, CRNP, CTTS, FAAN
Dr. Ruffin is the founder and chairman of RUFFIN MEDICAL GROUP A Holistic Housecall & family Practice. He serves as Chair of the Master of Science Nursing Program and Professor of Nursing at Stockton University. He held dual certifications as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Ruffin is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist with a passion to eliminate smoking and vaping related health harzards. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University, a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nursing, and Tobacco Treatment Specialization from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilmington University. Dr. Ruffin’s research interest is focused in the areas of Diabetes, health coaching, smoking and vaping education and management. He published multiple peer-reviewed research articles and authored many chapter books. Dr. Ruffin serves as chair of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) committee on substance use disorders. He is frequently sought as a speaker on topics related to smoking and vaping, man’s health, diabetes management, etc. He is the content expert for NBNA on the above-mentioned topics. Dr. Ruffin’s clinical practice includes Primary Care, Family Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, Hospital readmission reduction, Smoking Cessation, etc. He received several nominations and awards, including Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in 2021, the 2019 Trailblazer Award from the NBNA, the 2018 Don Award from the Institute for Nursing, the Rutgers University School of Nursing 2017 Rising Star Alumnus Award, the Haiti Premiere Class 2017 Nursing Diversity Award, the America’s 2017 Best of Nursing Award, the NBNA 2016 Under 40 Award, the NBNA 2015 Emerging Leader Award, the 2014 NNJBNA Clinical Leadership Award and many more. He served as first male President of the Northern New Jersey Black Nurses Association and first male Haitian decent to ever been named FAAN. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and serves in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, member of the American Nurses Association and serves on the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing in addition to serving as a national mentor. He is a member of the New Jersey State Nurses Association, and Board member of Haiti Nursing Foundation. Dr. Ruffin is called by many a role model and a fervent advocate for the Advanced Practice role.
Marie Y. Nelson, DNP, MSN, APN, RN, FNP-C
Dr. Marie Y. Nelson is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in health care as a nurse in an Orthopedic/Medical-Surgical Unit in Hoboken, New Jersey. Since then, she has logged many years of experience in various areas of patient care.
In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Dr. Nelson also has an outstanding academic background that includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s Degree in Family Health Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctorate Degree of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. Nelson’s combination of clinical education and experience provide a strong academic foundation for the kind of holistic approach to patients that she feels critical to good patient care. She is a motivated, professional, and adaptable family nurse practitioner. Dr. Nelson is comfortable with patients and students from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. She believes in caring for children and adults, including men and women. She is a fervent advocate for family practice.
Carmelle S. Charleston, MSN, APN, RN, FNP-BC, CMSRN
Carmelle S. Charleston is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with many years experience in chronic care management in the home setting. She is a dedicated and reliable Advanced Practice Nurse with primary care, acute care, pediatric, and Housecalls experience. Carmelle possesses strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a variety of settings.
She is a graduate of Bowie State University, Bowie, Maryland where she received both her BSN and MSN with Family Health Nurse Practitioner specialization. She is a champion in health promotion and disease prevention strategies. Her strong academic foundation coupled with her extensive acute and primary care experience equipped her to be a competent housecall provider. She is fluent in English, French, and Creole. She is dedicated to providing compassionate care for patients from various social-economic backgrounds.
Lucille A. Miller, MSN, APN, RN, FNP-C
Lucille began her nursing career as an ER nurse and moved to critical care before becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She has over 20 years of combined Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing experiences. She works in a very busy primary care practice in south jersey. Her passion for chronic disease management led her to care for patients beyond the confinement of the office, but to the Patient’s Homes with Ruffin Medical Group. She is a proud graduate of Rutgers University School of Nursing. She believes the home is the ultimate place where healing takes place.
